Detailed Profiles
Humans
Humans are the most populous and versatile race across the globe. Lacking the extreme physical specialization of the other races, humans compensate with unmatched adaptability and ambition. They build major trade cities in almost any climate, and their alignment spans from the most saintly virtues to the darkest evils.
- Specialization: Due to cultural and physical restrictions in the southern empires, Humans are the only race capable of learning the secretive arts of the Ninja class.
- Homeland: Typically start in the grand central cities.
Elves
Elves are graceful, slender demihumans whose lifespans stretch across multiple human generations. Standing between five-and-a-half to seven feet tall, they appear fragile compared to humans but possess extraordinary agility and chiseled features. Elves maintain a profound, harmonious connection to the natural world.
- Specialization: High natural dexterity and agility. Exceptionally suited for ranger, magus, and thief classes.
- Homeland: The deep forests and ancient woodland retreats of the world.
Dwarves
Dwarves are a stout, noble race of craftsmen who dwell deep within underground mountain fortresses. Standing around four-and-a-half feet tall, they are stocky, heavily muscled, and possess an unyielding mental grit—often said to be harder than the stone they quarry.
- Specialization: Massive constitution and physical resilience. Natural warriors and defensive stalwarts.
- Homeland: Subterranean kingdoms and mountain citadels.
Kender
Kender are small, elf-like beings characterized by their boundless curiosity, total fearlessness, and absolute independence. They do not possess a centralized kingdom, choosing instead to wander the world on perpetual journeys of exploration. Kender have an infamous, compulsive habit of “borrowing” items without permission.
- Specialization: Fearless in the face of terror. Innately skilled at sneaking, hiding, and picking locks.
- Homeland: Wandering caravans and temporary settlements.
Minotaurs
Minotaurs are towering, muscular humanoids standing well over seven feet tall, possessing the body of a powerful human and the head of a bull. Whether originating from ancient curses or isolated ancestral bloodlines, they are renowned as relentless combatants and master navigators.
- Specialization: Exceptional physical strength and combat damage. Due to their labyrinthine heritage, they have an innate sense of direction, preventing them from easily getting lost.
- Homeland: Labyrinths beneath the earth and dense, primeval forests.
Rakshasas
Rakshasas are malevolent spirits encased in humanoid tiger flesh. No one knows their true origin, though some say they are the physical manifestation of nightmares. They possess palms that curve backwards away from their bodies, and while historically feared, many have left their tyrannical wastes to pursue lives of adventure.
- Specialization: Innate resistance to magical attacks, combined with high natural intelligence and magical affinity.
- Homeland: The sandy wastes and hot desert dunes of their ancestral homeland.
Ssaurs
Ssaurs represent a highly evolved and intelligent lineage of lizardmen. Shrugged off and cast out by their primitive, brutal ancestors due to their intellectual depth, Ssaurs are calm, calculating, and less menacing in appearance. They are native to the vast marshes and damp bayous of the world.
- Specialization: High natural constitution and swamp survival capabilities.
- Homeland: Swamps, marshes, and misty wetlands.
